“The 14th Five-Year Plan” period is a key period for China to complete building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and advance to a new stage of building a modern socialist country. Therefore, the 14th Five-Year Plan formulation and implementation are of great significance. Formulating the plan at a high level helps to stimulate all walks of life to be diligent and creates a new situation of economic and social development. The Yangtze River Industrial Economic Research Institute of Nanjing University organized experts to have an online discussion immediately after the special meeting of the State Council on the preparation of the 14th Five-Year Plan, making suggestions for the plan. The discussion is divided into three parts. Firstly, what external uncertainties and challenges will we confront during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and how to deal with them? Secondly, in order to promote economic development, improve people's well-beings, and forestall and defuse risks, what major policies need to be introduced in this period? Thirdly, what are the features of the possible major risks during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and how to resolve them?
